My name is Olivia DuBois and I am on Splunk’s Global Emerging Talent team. I’m reaching out because we recently announced our 2024 HBCU Academic Scholarship is open for student applications! This year, our scholarship will offer a $10,000 academic scholarship for up to fifteen (15) students who are pursuing a technology-related degree. I’d love to connect with you or a school faculty member that is involved with scholarships to share this with students.  About the Splunk HBCU Academic Scholarship The Splunk HBCU Academic Scholarship aims to help empower students to continue excelling in their academics, celebrate their contributions made to their communities, and champion their passion for technology. Splunk will award 15 students each with a one-time$10,000 scholarship award intended for use towards academic expenses. The Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), is a combined educational and workforce development opportunity for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) students.

The Ronald V. Dellums Memorial SMART Scholarship (Dellums SMART Scholarship) expands the SMART Scholarship opportunity to rising freshmen who plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in one of the 24 SMART STEM disciplines.

ETS National $20,000 Scholarship Honoring the Late Lenora M. Green - Apply by April 3

ETS provides a national scholarship opportunity designed to support any full-time freshman, sophomore or junior at a public or private four-year U.S. college or university during the 2022–2023 academic school year.  The scholarship award is $20,000 and the application deadline is April 3, 2023.

The inaugural scholarship is named in honor of the late Lenora M. Green, former Executive Director of the Center for Advocacy & Philanthropy at ETS. She focused CAAP’s mission on using social investment and advocacy programs to mitigate challenges in higher education faced by disadvantaged groups by identifying, supporting, and helping national, regional, and local organizations that advance quality and equity in education.

Robert (Bob) Moses Scholarship 

This annually awarded national scholarship is designed to support the educational goals of a graduate student from an underrepresented group who is pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree in mathematics education or a STEM discipline. The individual should also have a commitment to civic engagement. 

The inaugural scholarship is named in honor of the late Bob Moses, a pioneering civil rights leader and educator who founded The Algebra Project, a national U.S. mathematics literacy program aimed at helping low-income students and students of color achieve the mathematical skills in high school that are a prerequisite for success in college and beyond. 

Scholarship Award: $15,000 

Who Is Eligible to Apply? 

Any student who: 

is enrolled as a master’s or doctoral student in good standing at a public or private U.S. university during the 2022–2023 academic school year 

demonstrates leadership abilities and commitment to community service 

demonstrates financial need 

is a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 

How To Apply 

To apply for the scholarship, you must provide: 

a one-page statement outlining financial need 

the official transcript for your most recently completed academic term; this should include your Fall 2022 grades and cumulative GPA 

two recommendation letters (one should be from a school advisor or the chair of the dissertation committee) 

two original essays, answering the following essay questions (maximum of 500 words per question): Describe how your approach to learning is aligned with the work of Bob Moses. 

Tell us a bit about yourself, your background, why you should be awarded the Robert (Bob) Moses Scholarship and how this scholarship will help you support underserved communities.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION:

To apply, students must be enrolled in high school based in the United States, or attend an accredited four-year college or university, or a two-year accredited community college, vocational, or technical institution in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree. Applicants must be a US citizen.

All Applicants Must Submit:

• Application form
• Essay (less than 500 words)
• One letter of reference (non-family members)
• Unofficial transcript
